One day, when he saw Koothupattarai’s (a prominent Tamil theatre group in which he had worked earlier) poster and after seeing the poster, he recalled the famous cinematographer and director, Balu Mahendra, who had once commented that Vijay had ‘a photogenic face,’ which motivated him, and he decided to pursue acting as his career.
